Painting



Painting is the practice of applying pigment in a carrier (or medium) to a surface. The painting media (pigments) of choice are Acrylic, Oil, Pastel, Spray paint also known as graffiti, and Watercolor.
The most common survace is paper, or canvas. Walls are also used for painting on whether it be graffiti, done by spraypaint, or a watercolor composition. In the old days of painting, paper was the surface of choice but there are many well known paintings that were not done on paper. The most recongnized example is, The Sistine Chapel painted by Micelangelo.
Along with Micelangelo Buonarroti, some other famous painters are Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, and Pablo Picasso. Below are paintings done by van Gogh, Michelangelo, and da Vinci. These are by far the some of the most recognized paintings in the world.
