 | Painting is the practice of applying pigment in a carrier (or medium) to a surface. The painting media (pigments) of choice are Acrylic, Oil, Pastel, Spray paint also known as graffiti, and Watercolor. |
 | The most common survace is paper, or canvas. Walls are also used for painting on whether it be graffiti, done by spraypaint, or a watercolor composition. In the old days of painting, paper was the surface of choice but there are many well known paintings that were not done on paper. The most recongnized example is, The Sistine Chapel painted by Micelangelo. |
