Chefs have multiple tasks on the job:
|
Chefs tend to have high pressure work eviroments because of constantly having to prepare meals quickly, while maintaining quality, and insuring health standards are being followed. Typical work weeks vary greatly depending on where they are working. A greater number of chefs. have part-time schedules then most other jobs. Workers must strain with standing long hours at a time, lifting heavy pots and kettles, and working near hot ovens, grills, etc.
One of the most important charecteristics a chef must have is working well with a team. All day chefs work together to get the job done, and if you are not able to work as a team, then you don't have much chance as a chef. Some more charecteristics or traits required would be having a keen sense of smell and taste, and working efficently to get meals done as fast as possible, with the highest quality possible.
